Fair Use And Copyright
| Teachers are allowed to make copies of materials
protected by copyright for classroom use as long as they follow "Fair Use"
guidelines. However, note that the posting of classroom work on a public
web site such as
Kidlink is
NOT covered by these Fair Use policies.
Therefore, teachers must not publish or let their students publish works protected by copyright on Kidlink unless specific permission has been given by the copyright owner. Note: The organizations from which you and your students get images may not be the copyright owner. For instance, if a teacher uses images copied from the brochure of a zoo, the teacher may think that the zoo would never object to the use of their images. However, the zoo may have paid a photographer for the rights to use the images in their brochure. This does not include usage on the web and both the teacher and Kidlink could be sued by the photographer for placing the images on the web.
