"Translating" The Portal For Teachers
The main purpose of your portal for teachers is to list offerings available in your language. Therefore, a straight translation of the English page would be wrong as it lists projects that are not translated, and have no support in your language. Also, expect quotes by children living in countries where your language is not predominant to be of less interest.

You should create an abridged version of the English language page as shown in the template below. Make the following changes:

  1. In the top navigation bar - which is at the very top of the template - replace "English" by the name of your language, and correct the link. Example: In the Arabic portal, English is replaced by , which links to /arabie/general/intro.html .
  2. Educational Programs: The first item should always be 4 basic questions, followed by your Who-Am-I?. Next, list projects and activities available and supported in your language. If there are no such projects yet, continue from "In English", and down the list.
  3. The quotes under How do I want the world to be better when I grow up? are taken from our public registration database. Daily - if possible - you should select and post one quote of an answer to the third registration question:
    • A quote from a registration submitted in you language. If several children registered on that day, select the one you think is best.
    • If there are no registrations in your language, select a quote from an English language registration made by a child living in a country where your language predominant - if such a quote is available. Otherwise, do not make a quote for this day.
    • Daily quotes shows visitors the level of activity in your language, and is therefore pretty important.

Example: In the Arabic language portal, list quotes in Arabic or English written by children living in countries where Arabic is the main language. Contact us to for hints.
