| Since the start, children have register by
expressing views on how to make our world better. In 1991, there was war
in the Middle East, and our kids were concerned, so we made our first attempt
at bringing them together to act. A
KIDPEACE
mailing list on "War and Peace" was opened, but when the war ended, the activity.
Since then, we have run many projects and activities on making the world better, like Kidforum on War and Peace, Children's Bill of Rights, Blue Print Earth (environment), Whales and Humans, Wetlands, Building Bridges, Faces of Friendship, Friends and Families, Words From the Heart, Discussion on censorship, abortion. Making Our World Better builds on these experiences. Our goal remains to help them get organized and fight for their dreams. Kidlink itself is impartial as to what methods are being used to solve the issues of the world . We do not promote specific solutions to these issues, or any political points-of-view. Our dream is to see children shaping their future together. To support their decisions, for example on what solutions to propose to politicians, the program guides them to investigate alternatives, share information, experiences, and resources with peers having similar aspirations, and to effectively use knowledge and information as tools. The program runs in parallel in several languages, all year long. Next page: What the program is for teachers, parents, others |
