| Subject: Telecentro- Bolivia Date: Fri, 15 Oct 2004
Dear
Odd:
I have a few exciting
things to tell you, in our strategic plan for this year we had the goal of
opening new outlets or Telecentros in order to broaden the Kidlink activities
in Bolivia due to the excellent results we had in
2003. We made strategic alliances with some business enterprises like ENTEL (The Telecom Company), UNDP( United Nations Development Program), Public Institutions like the Mayor´s Office, ADSIB (The Bolivian Agency for the Development of the Information Society in Bolivia) and the Ministry of Education.
We have worked with all these institutions in a coordinated effort
with the goal of opening three new K houses. This was materialized the
21st of September. We opened a KHouse in El Alto which is called
Inti Yatikaña which means the Awakening of Learning. The
second Khouse was opened in Santa Cruz and is calles Mil Estrellas
or One Thousand Stars and the third one is in La Paz and is called
Wiñarasun that means Lets go forward. This last Khouse
is located inside the second largest school in the district wich houses 4000
students. All the institutions that gave us their support are very enthusiastic of continuing helping us and thus hopefully continue to expand the program in Bolivia with the permission of the Ministry of Education. Our goal till the first semester of next year is to serve 1000 kids.
Attached you will have some photographs of the opening of the different
Khouses, if you have questions please feel free to contact
us.
On the other hand, the translation of Aymara has a 50% completion
and is being validated by the Ministry of
Education.
Greeting and hope to hear from you with comments and
suggestions,
Susy |
